  *  [[Agassiz, Auguste|Auguste Agassiz]], together with the watch dealers [[Raiguel, Henri|Henri Raiguel]] and [[Morel, Florian|Florian Morel]], opens a watch trade with manufacturing in the Swiss [[Saint-Imier]]. In the following period it becomes the well-known watch manufacturer [[Longines]]. 
  *  [[Winnerl, Joseph Thaddäus|Joseph Thaddäus Winnerl]], at whom [[Ferdinand Adolph Lange]] will gain important experiences from [[1835]] until [[1840]], goes into business for himself in Paris and manufactures [[marine chronometer]]s, precision [[pocket watch]]es and precision pendulum clocks.
