  * [[Huber, Andreas|Andreas Huber]] on 13 October 1856, after he has received a legacy of 3,000 guilders, founds a watch business in the Roeckl house at No. 4 Karlsplatz in Munich with this money. From this in the following years arises the watches house [[Andreas Huber]], which is well-known far beyond Munich.
  *  [[Urs Schild]] and [[Dr. Girard]] establish the first watch factory in the canton of [[Solothurn]], [[ETA]] [[Grenchen]].
