  *  End of [[1926]], early 1927 from the bankrupt estate of the [[Deutsche Präzisions-Uhren-Fabrik Glashütte e.G.m.b.H|Deutschen Präzisions-Uhrenfabrik e.G.m.b.H]] the [[UROFA]] and its sister company, the [[UFAG]], is created. 
  *  [[Storz, Walter|Walter Storz]] founds a [[pocket watch|pocket]] and wristwatch manufacturing under the label [[Stowa]] in Hornberg (Germany). 
  *  The holding company [[Ebauches SA|Ébauches SA]] with location in [[Neuchâtel]] is founded. 
  *  On 7 October 1927 the young swimmer Mercedes Gleitz swims through the English Channel in 15 hours and 15 minutes wearing a [[Rolex]] "[[Oyster]]", which shows the exact time afterwards. 
  *  On 20 December 1927 the Soviet government decides to found an own Soviet watches production. (See [[Amtorg]].) 
  *  The American aviation pioneer Charles A. Lindbergh crosses the Atlantic for the first time with a single plane ( "Spirit of St. Louis") from New York to Paris. Named according to him and manufactured after his concept the [[hour angle watch]] [[Longines Lindbergh]] is made.
