====== Art Déco ====== Style epoch Chronologically the era of Art Deco can be dated in the period between the 20s and 40s of the 20th Century. It is essentially a unifying design pattern, that is recurring in architecture, furniture, vehicles, fashion clothes, jewelry or consumer goods, but is not easy to narrow down to individual features. One can speak of a style of "classical modernity", which expresses in spacious, elegant lines and metric relationships. To Art Deco also a --- in spite of the economic crisis at that time --- particularly expensive and luxurious lifestyle (keyword "glamor") is counted, which developed parallel to the increasingly resurgent film and entertainment industry. The film "The Great Gatsby" for instance revives this way of life. As examples of watch brands, which take up the elements of the Art Deco style, are to be named Cartier, Franck Muller and Duesenberg. The model Reverso by Jaeger-LeCoultre is considered as influential classic of the Art Deco. ===== Weblinks ===== * Art Deco Society of California * Junges Wohnen: Retro-Einrichtung im Stil des Art Déco (German)
