====== AS 5008 ======
Calibre **AS 5008** (and similar **AS 5004** and **AS 5007**) is an [[automatic]] [[alarm movement]] from [[A. Schild]] produced between [[1973]] and [[1977]].

Although alarm movements had been widely produced in the 1950's, it was not until the following decade that automatic alarm movements were produced. A. Schild developed their own unique automatic alarm movement and introduced it in [[1973]] since quartz alarm watches had not yet been developed.

Unlike many other automatic alarm watches, the rotor winds both the alarm and timekeeping [[barrel]]s. One direction of rotation winds the timekeeping barrel and the other winds the alarm.

This movement features two crowns, at 2 00 and 4 00 

  * The crown at 2 00 is used for timekeeping functions Manual winding, setting the day and date, and setting the time, in three positions, respectively
  * The crown at 4 00 is used for the alarm Disabled in first position and enabled (and set) in second

Cal. 5008 was produced with and without a day and date dials. Although given different names, all three movements are typically signed "AS 5008". A manual winding version, **AS 5001** was also produced.
