**Jehan-Jacques Blancpain** was a Swiss watchmaker.

Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, who earned his living as a farmer, in [[1735]] founded an own manufacturing of watches in [[Villeret]], in the valley Erguel. At first in the farm house on the banks of the small creek Suze parts for [[pocket watch]]es were made, and later complete [[ebauche movement]]s, and finally, in the second half of the 18th century, complete watches were produced, which found their buyers in whole of Europe .

The year [[1735]] is counted as the beginning of the famous brand [[Blancpain]].
