**Günter Blümlein**

Gunter Blumlein was born on 21 March [[1943]] in Nuremberg. His career began at the watchmaking company [[Junghans]]. In [[1981]] he joined [[IWC]] in [[Schaffhausen]]. On 7 December [[1990]] together with [[Lange, Walter|Walter Lange]] he founded the [[Lange Uhren GmbH]] in [[Glashütte]]/Saxony and thus helped the brand [[A. Lange & Söhne]] to a glorious comeback after the "change".

In [[1996]], Günter Blümlein received the prestigious [[Prix Gaïa]] Esprit d'Entreprise award.

Gunter Blumlein died on 1 October [[2001]] in [[Schaffhausen]] .
