2021, Breguet presented this simple and elegant model in the classic style of the house. For example, guilloché has become one of Breguet's aesthetic trademarks. Surfaces with finely crafted irregularities allow light to be captured in a variety of ways, from the utmost clarity to a matte finish. With the light captured in this way, the different reading areas of the dial can be better delineated. Guilloché surfaces are also better protected from the ravages of time than polished surfaces, which are too shiny and prone to corrosion and scratches. Finally, guilloché surfaces provide the relief necessary to catch the micro-dust that could affect the chronometric performance of the first pocket watches more than two centuries ago. Over time, Breguet has refined the variety of its guilloches and its preference for particular motifs. This is particularly true of the "Clous de Paris". This motif fills the entire center section of the dial. It is handcrafted with a diamond chisel and consists of an interweaving of engraved and crossed lines with a pitch of only 0.25 mm, giving the impression of a matte coating at a distance of 50 cm (the usual distance when reading a wristwatch). This facilitates reading the hours and minutes, which are indicated by the two central hands in blued steel with their "hollowed, openworked pomme", now known as "Breguet hands". On the rim, the model is decorated with a barleycorn motif typical of the manufacture. On the back, the platinum oscillating weight is guilloché with a wave motif. For this anniversary model, Breguet has equipped the reference 5365 with a 60-second tourbillon that can be seen between 4 and 6 o'clock and whose one axis indicates the seconds. Attentive aficionados will notice two special features: first, the upper bridge, which is also made of blued steel - an unusual finish for a tourbillon in the Classic collection. And second, the cartouche above the tourbillon with the inscription "Brevet N°157," which refers to the patent number A.-L. Breguet received for his invention exactly 220 years ago. This tribute is echoed on the back, with the engraving "Anniversaire 1801 - 2021" on the barrel, the notation "Brevet N°157 Du 7 Messidor An IX" on the lower bridge of the tourbillon, and the individual number for each piece. All of these endorsements are engraved by hand, as is the Breguet signature on the peripheral oscillating weight. To the right of the movement is a faithful reproduction of the watercolor plate that A.-L. Breguet submitted in 1801, exactly 220 years ago, for his patent application for a tourbillon regulator. **Reference:** * 5365BR/15/9WU rose gold **Movement:** * Extra-flat automatic movement Cal. 581, frequency 4 Hz * Tourbillon * Barrel on ball-bearing rollers * Reverse-side lever escapement escapement with silicon horns * Silicon balance spring * 33 jewels * Individually numbered and with Breguet signature * 16 ligne * Power reserve 80 h **Case:** * 18 ct rose gold with delicately fluted caseband * Ø 41 mm * Welded lugs with screw bars * Sapphire crystal * Sapphire crystal caseback * Waterproof to 3 bar **Dial:** * 18 ct gold, silvered, produced in four parts and following two different themes: Clous de Paris and grain d’orge * Individually numbered and signed Breguet * Hours chapter with Roman numerals * Breguet hands in blued steel with openworked «Pomme» tip **Functions:** * Hours, minutes * Indication of the small seconds on the tourbillon axis **Wristband:** * Leather strap with triple clasp buckle **Limited edition:** * 35 pieces
