A **Cam-poised balance** is a special variant of the [[balance]] in a mechanical movement. Similar to a [[screw balance]], the [[rate]] of the watch is [[Regulation|regulated]] by changing the weight distribution directly at the balance, but here not by turning screws vertically sunk into the balance rim, but by turning adjusting weights ("eccentric poising weights") located inside.
