A **cock** is a supporting [[movement]] component attached at one point to a [[plate]].

===== Overview =====
A cock, like a [[bridge]] or [[plate]], holds movement components in place. In contrast to a [[bridge]] it is fixed only at one point, while the other side ends at the bearing of a [[wheel]], [[balance wheel]], or [[lever]]. Some movements feature multiple cocks for different components, but the most common use is to support a [[balance wheel]] at the top. In this case, the [[regulator]] is often placed on top of the cock.
