**Corundum** has the chemical formula Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> and is a mineral, which is produced synthetically today and is used as [[sapphire crystal]] at [[watch glass]]es. The name "Corundum" comes from the Sanskrit //kuruvinda// ("ruby").
