**Vintage 1945 XXL Foudroyante** is a luxury watch by [[Girard-Perregaux]].

In the year [[1880]] [[Girard, Constant|Constant Girard]] created a pocket chronograph, which was equipped with two finesses a [[rattrapante]] function and a [[seconde foudroyante]]. With the rattrapante function split times can be measured, and the seconde foudroyante indicates fractions of a second. The ingenious principle is based on a [[double barrel]], which gives [[power reserve]] to the seconde foudroyante.

Over a hundred years later [[Girard-Perregaux]] launched a new edition of the [[chronograph]] with [[rattrapante]] and seconde foudroyante as [[wristwatch]] - thanks to advances in miniaturization. The watch from the series // Vintage 1945 // has a [[self-winding]] [[manufacture]] movement and a rectangular, particularly large-sized case in [[white gold]].
