**Georges Golay** was Managing Director of [[Audemars Piguet]] from [[1966]] until his death in [[1987]].

===== Biography =====
Georges Golay joined [[Audemars Piguet]] in [[1945]]. He became Managing Director of the firm in [[1966]] and lead the brand through the [[quartz crisis]] with a dedication to mechanical watches.

Golay is credited with overseeing the launch of numerous important watches, including the [[1972]] [[Audemars Piguet Royal Oak]] and [[1986]] [[Audemars Piguet Automatic Tourbillon]].

He was also a member of the [[FH]] and many other boards and associations to promote watchmaking and sport in the [[Vallée de Joux]].
