The **Graham escapement** (also //deadbeat escapement//) is an [[escapement]] type invented by [[George Graham]] in [[1715]]. Even today it is found in almost all good [[pendulum]] clocks.

It involves the first [[dead-beat]] [[anchor escapement]] for [[pendulum]] clocks. The Graham escapement replaced the spindle escapement, since it brought significant benefits.
