**Nicolas G. Hayek** was a business consultant and watch entrepreneur. He was born on 19 February [[1928]] in Beirut, Lebanon. He grew up in Beirut largely in the care of his Lebanese mother. His father George N. Hayek was American.

Hayek contributed significantly to the creation of the trend and fashion watch [[Swatch]] and also played a dicisive role in the formation of the [[Swatch Group]], which today is the greatest watch trust in the world.

In [[2004]] Hayek became honorary citizen of [[Biel]]. In [[2007]] he received the Lifetime Award of the Swiss Awards. In [[2008]], Nicolas G. Hayek received the prestigious [[Prix Gaïa]] Esprit d'Entreprise award.

Nicolas G. Hayek died on June 28, [[2010]] at the age of 82 years on heart failure while working in his office.
