**Hublot Magic Gold** is a patented 18-karat gold alloy consisting of 75% pure gold and 25% [[ceramic]] (boron carbide) that was introduced in [[2011]].  The material is characterized by its extreme scratch resistance, which is approximately 1,000 HV, making it significantly harder than conventional [[gold]] (approximately 150–400 HV) or [[stainless steel]] (approximately 200 HV); it is so robust that only [[diamonds]] can scratch it. 

Production takes place exclusively at Hublot’s own foundry in Nyon, where liquid 24-karat gold is injected under extremely high pressure and at high temperatures into porous, cold-pressed ceramic components.  This innovative alloy is used in various models of the [[Big Bang]] series, where the material is often combined with black ceramic or [[titanium]] elements to create a striking visual contrast.
