===== Details =====
IWC has been transitioning to [[in-house]] movements since [[2000]], enhancing the reputation and technical features of their watches. In [[2011]], IWC introduced the [[IWC 59000|Cal. 59000 family]] of [[hand-wound]] [[eight day]] movements. This family features a single [[barrel]] and [[mainspring]] and ticks at a modern [[4 Hz]], making the [[long power reserve|long 192 hour power reserve]] extremely impressive.

**Cal. 59800**, introduced with little fanfare in January [[2017]] in the [[IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Moon Phase]], is the only member of this family with a [[moon phase indicator]]. This complication is implemented as a module on [[IWC 59210|Cal. 59210]].
