====== Jürgensen, Urban ======

**Urban Jürgensen** was a Danish watchmaker and chronometer maker.

He was born on 5 August [[1776]] in Copenhagen, the son of court watchmaker Jürgen Jürgensen. At the age of 20, he went to Switzerland to train. Later, he went to Paris (to [[Abraham-Louis Breguet]], among others) and to London to [[John Arnold]]. In 1815, he was appointed royal court watchmaker by the Danish king.
