====== Marine chronometer ======
A **marine chronometer** is a mechanical timepiece which is carried on ships and is very accurate. It is often equipped with a [[chronometer escapement]] (also Detent escapement).

Marine chronometers served at the navigation at sea to determine the exact position (longitude).
