Visually similar to the first //Omega Seamaster// from the year 1957 the inner workings of the watch reflect modern watchmaking technology --- it is the first dive watch at all which is equipped with Omega's revolutionary co-axial escapement. The Swiss watch manufacturer links a long history with the world of the seas: Since the 1930's Omega develops dive watches, which accompanied famous oceanographers and divers such as Jacques Mayol on their expeditions into the depths. The current //Seamaster Planet Ocean// models are available in two different case sizes with 45.5 mm (big size) or 42 mm diameter. The only difference is that the chasing on the edge of the bezel is a bit finer on the smaller model. Brushed stainless steel in combination with the colors black or orange gives the unidirectional rotating bezel with a luminous dot at 12 o'clock its distinctive sporty look. The rugged timepiece is equipped with screw-in crown and screwed-in caseback and waterproof to 600 meters. Unique feature of a real dive watch is the helium escape valve at 10 o'clock - during decompression in a diving bell the valve releases each helium atom and so protects the watch from damage. The dial painted in mat black with applied hour markers and luminous Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and 9 o'clock and a date window at 3 o'clock is clearly designed and easy to read. The faceted hour and minute hand with arrow heads also have Superluminova coating, while the arrowhead of the seconds hand is orange and lets recognize the exact second time at a glance. A sapphire crystal with anti-glare treatment protects the watch from outside influences. The Seamaster Planet Ocean is the first dive watch that is equipped with the calibre Omega 2500 with co-axial escapement. This new escapement developed by George Daniels and made ready for series production by Omega reduces the friction of the power-transmission parts of the movement and so extends the life of the watch. The movement has a power reserve of 48 hours and is lavishly decorated with rhodinated surfaces, circular graining, Geneva stripes and gilded carvings. On the case back in stainless steel the name of the watch, the Omega symbol and the seahorse medallion of the Seamaster series are incorporated. **Reference:** * 2201.50.00 stainless steel black, stainless steel bracelet * 2209.50.00 stainless steel orange, stainless steel bracelet * 2901.50.91 stainless steel black, rubber strap * 2909.50.38 stainless steel orange, leather strap * 2909.50.91 stainless steel orange, rubber strap * 2201.51.00 stainless steel black, stainless steel bracelet, numerals orange * 2901.51.82 stainless steel black, rubber strap, black, seams orange * 2901.50.81 stainless steel black, rubber strap black, seams white * 2909.50.82 stainless steel orange, rubber strap black, seams orange * 2909.50.83 stainless steel orange, rubber strap orange * 222.63.42.20.01.001 red gold, black, leather strap * 222.60.42.20.01.001 red gold, black, gold bracelet **:2200.50.00 stainless steel black, stainless steel bracelet, big size** * 2208.50.00 stainless steel orange, stainless steel bracelet, big size * ... **Movement:** * Self-winding movement Omega 2500 (basis ETA 2892-A2), 25.200 A/h * Co-axial escapement * COSC certified chronometer * Rhodinated movement * Perlaged, Geneva stripes and gilded engravings * Power reserve 48 h **Case:** * Stainless steel, polished/satin-finished / red gold * D 42 mm (optional 45.5 mm), H ? mm (15.5 mm) * Unidirectional turning bezel * Sapphire crystal with anti-glare treatment on both sides * Helium escape valve * Screw-in crown * Screw-in caseback with seahorse gravure * Waterproof to 600 m **Dial:** * Black * Hands and indexes with luminous material Superluminova **Functions:** * Hours, minutes, central seconds, date **Bracelet:** * Stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp or leather strap / rubber strap with tang-type buckle / gold bracelet **Guarantee:** * 3 years **Prize:** * The versions with stainless steel bracelet cost 2.710.00 Euro (UVP).
