The **Calatrava, Ref. 3796** is a classic dress watch from [[Patek Philippe]]. This was the 1980's incarnation of the classic [[Patek Philippe Calatrava 96|Ref. 96 Calatrava]].

Patek Philippe Ref. 3796 lasted in production from [[1982]] through [[1999]]. Although the [[Patek Philippe Calatrava|Calatrava family]] had expanded dramatically by then, this reference was meant to be as close as possible to the original. It retains the classic 31 mm case size as well as the tapered lugs of the original.

Inside, Patek Philippe equipped Ref. 3796 with an updated movement. [[PP 215|Cal. 215]] still had 18 jewels but now beat at 28,800 A/h and used a [[Gyromax]] balance for greater accuracy.

Ref. 3796 was replaced by [[Patek Philippe Calatrava 5196|Ref. 5196]] and [[Patek Philippe Calatrava 5296|Ref. 5296]] in the late 1990's.
