**Perpetual** is the designation used by [[Rolex]] for [[automatic]] winding.

[[Hans Wilsdorf]] called the [[automatic]] winding, with which since [[1931]] watches by [[Rolex]] are equipped, **perpetual**. This designation is therefore still part of the name of all Rolex models with [[automatic]] movement.
