====== Pointer ======
A **pointer** is a synonym for a [[hand]], but typically indicates use for a [[complication]] rather than time-keeping.

Pointers can use any of the traditional [[hand]] styles and can be located in a [[subdial]] or at the center of the dial.

When a hand indicates a [[date]], [[day]], [[power reserve]], or other functions it is usually referred to as a "pointer" rather than a "hand". [[Retrograde]] hands of any function are typically referred to as "pointers" as well, as are indicators on [[tourbillon]] or [[carousel]] movements.
