====== Ratchet ======
The **ratchet** (or **click**) is part of the watch [[movement]].

In watches with [[Power source|spring drive]] the ratchet is used in the winding to prevent a turning back of the [[barrel]], and therefore the self-relaxation of the [[mainspring]]. It consists essentially of the [[ratchet wheel]], the [[click]] or ratchet and the [[click spring]].
