====== Remontoire ======
A **remontoir** (from the French //remonter//, meaning "to wind") is a watch part.

It is a mechanism which is used to establish a constant force on the [[gear train]]. So it stabilizes the driving force coming from the [[mainspring]].

Today sometimes the term is used in contradictory meanings, for example for watches with winding mechanisms in general.
