In [[1998]] [[Lothar Schmidt]], the owner of the watch manufacturer [[Sinn]], together with Walter Fricker (owner of the housing company Fricker, Pforzheim) and Ronald Boldt, former //head of technology and quality// of the [[GUB|Glashütter Uhrenbetrieb]], founded the watch case manufacturer **Saxon watches technology GmbH (SUG)** together in [[Glashütte]], Saxonia.

The SUG has focused on the manufacture of high quality watch cases. In the start-up phase of the company the watch company [[Sinn]], by an agreement to manufacture watch cases at SUG, contributed significantly to the building of a solid structure of the company. In addition, there is a lively and fruitful technology transfer between the two businesses in Frankfurt and [[Glashütte]].

Also, the watch manufacturer [[Jacques Etoile]] has its cases manufactured in the SUG.
