A **sautoir** (French "Sautoir de compteur minutes") or "jumper spring" allows a hand to advance instantaneously.

Typically found on classic [[chronograph]] movements, a sautoir allows the [[chronograph minutes]] or [[chronograph hours]] hand to advance instantaneously rather than advancing with the [[chronograph seconds]] hand.
