He then returned to London and joined Somlo Antiques, heading the antique watch restoration department. After seven years at Somlo, Speake-Marin went back to Switzerland in 1996 to develop and build high-end complications for [[Renaud et Papi]]. In [[2000]] he became self-employed, launching his first branded model, the [[Speake-Marin Piccadilly]], in [[2003]]. This was the foundation of the Swiss watch manufacturer, [[Speake-Marin]]. Speake-Marin is a member of the renowned watchmakers association [[AHCI]]. He assisted in the creation of other high-end Swiss brands, including assisting [[Max Büsser]] in forming [[MB&F]] and designing the Excenter [[tourbillon]] for [[Harry Winston]]. He also founded the [[Maître du Temps]] brand with [[Steven Holtzman]], developing their [[Maître du Temps Chapter One|Chapter One]] and [[Maître du Temps Chapter Two|Two]], before focusing on his own Speake-Marin brand in [[2008]].
