A **subdial** is a subsection of the [[watch]] dial, which usually shows a separate function, for example the [[small seconds]] indication.

Other typical subdials are the counters or [[totaliser]]s of a [[chronograph]], or the indications of a [[perpetual calendar]] [[moon phase]]s, dates, days of week, months, [[leap year]]s and so on.
