The term **temperature error** generally refers to the deviation from a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setpoint_(control_system)|setpoint]], which is due to temperature effects. Since nearly all of the physical and chemical processes are dependent on the temperature, it also plays a role in mechanical watches.
