====== Thomas Prescher ====== **Thomas Prescher Haute Horlogerie** is the watch brand of watchmaker Thomas Prescher (sometimes written as "Präscher"), a member of the AHCI from 2005 to 2018. ===== History ===== Founded in 2002 in Ipsach near Biel, Thomas Prescher Haute Horlogerie was created by German watchmaker Thomas Prescher. Leaving the German Navy in 1991, Prescher was a self-taught watchmaker but was selected to IWC's apprentice watchmaker position. Just a single watchmaker was selected each year, yet Prescher excelled and was able to complete the four-year course in three years. Prescher then went to work for Audemars Piguet's Germany operation before moving to Gübelin in Lucerne. There he began building custom timepieces in addition to repairing historic ones. Setting up his own workshop, he specialized in complicated historic pieces. ===== Developments ===== Prescher's first creation was the Tempusvivendi, which featured a double-retrograde complication in the form of a human figure which indicates the time at the press of a button. Prescher became an AHCI candidate in 2003 and joined the organization in 2005 after showing a double axis tourbillon with the Academy at BaselWorld. His Tourbillon Trilogy, shown with the AHCI at BaselWorld in 2004 contained single-, double-, and flying triple-axis tourbillons in a single watch along with a constant force mechanism. A later important creation by Prescher was the 2010 Triple Axis Tourbillon Regulator, which replicates his unique flying triple-axis tourbillon. Prescher left the AHCI in 2018. ===== Web links ===== * www.prescher.ch, official website
