====== VC 5100 ======
**Calibre 5100** is a [[manufacture]] [[automatic]] movement from [[Vacheron Constantin]] first produced in [[2016]].

===== Overview =====
Vacheron Constantin long relied on [[ebauche]] movements from [[Jaeger-LeCoultre]], [[F. Piguet]], and [[Audemars Piguet]], but in [[2016]] they unveiled a family of in-house [[automatic]] movements to be used across their product line. Cal. 5100 is the company's basic time and date movement, with [[central rotor]] [[automatic]] winding and modern 28,800 A/h frequency. The movement is quite large, measuring 30.60 mm (13 1/4 ligne) in diameter and 4.70 mm thick. It is also extravagantly [[jewel]]ed, with 37 jewels specified. Vacheron Constantin is proud to have a [[Geneva Hallmark]] on all these movements.

This movement replaced the [[Jaeger-LeCoultre]]-derived [[VC 1126]] movement in mainstream time-and-date watches from Vacheron Constantin such as the [[Vacheron Constantin Overseas|"Large Model" Overseas]], though Cal. 5100 is quite a bit larger and thicker than that movement.

===== Cal. 5100/1 =====
The similar **Cal. 5100/1** differs mainly in using a [[tungsten]] rotor rather than the gold one used in the basic Cal. 5100. This is used in the [[Vacheron Constantin Quai de L'ile]].

===== Cal. 5110 DT =====
Cal **5110 DT** adds a [[GMT]] module with an adjustable hour hand and [[day/night indicator]]. This adds thickness to the movement, bringing it to 6.00 mm, and components, now at 234. The movement remains at 37 jewels and 60 hours power reserve. Cal. 5100 DT was introduced in [[2017]]'s [[Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time 7900|Overseas Dual Time Ref. 7900]].
