**Calibre 5300** is a [[manufacture]] small [[automatic]] movement from [[Vacheron Constantin]] first produced in [[2016]].

===== Overview =====
Vacheron Constantin long relied on [[ebauche]] movements from [[Jaeger-LeCoultre]], [[F. Piguet]], and [[Audemars Piguet]], but in [[2016]] they unveiled a family of in-house movements to be used across their product line. Cal. 5300 is the company's compact time-only movement, with [[central rotor]] [[automatic]] winding, [[small seconds]], and modern 28,800 A/h frequency. The movement is compact, measuring 22.60 mm (9 3/4 ligne) in diameter and 4.00 mm thick. It has 31 [[jewel]]s and sports the [[Geneva Hallmark]].

Prior to developing Cal. 5300, Vacheron Constantin typically used a compact quartz movement in their small ladies watches. This movement brought automatic mechanical technology to the [[Vacheron Constantin Overseas Small Model|Overseas "Small Model"]] line. Unlike prior quartz movements, however, Cal. 5300 lacks a date complication.

Although the design is reminiscent of the [[VC 5100]] movement introduced at the same time, Cal. 5300 is a different design.
