====== Venus 188 ======
The [[Venus]] calibres **188**, **200**, **210** and **211** are [[chronograph]] movements produced from [[1948]] through [[1966]] and continuing after as the [[Valjoux 7730]].

In contrast to the high-end [[Venus 175|pillar wheel calibres]] and [[Venus 179|rattrapante calibres]] produced by Venus in the 1950's, these were price-optimized for mass production. Rather than using a [[pillar wheel]] mechanism, the 188, 200, 210, and 211 used a [[cam switching]] technique that was cheaper to manufacture. After Venus was absorbed into [[Valjoux]] in [[1966]], Calibre 188 was re-branded as the [[Valjoux 7730]]. The cam switching mechanism went on to be used in the [[Valjoux 7750]], still in production today and perhaps the most popular chronograph movement of all time.
