====== Watchmaking School Furtwangen ======
The **Watchmaking School Furtwangen** (Uhrmacherschule [[Furtwangen]], Robert-Gerwig-Schule) is the oldest such school in Germany. It has contributed greatly to the development of the watchmaking industry in the Black Forest and until today educates watchmakers.

In [[1852]] [[Gerwig, Robert|Robert Gerwig]] founded at this school a watch collection for teaching purposes. This collection, which was made public, formed the basis of the [[Deutsches Uhrenmuseum Furtwangen|German Watch Museum Furtwangen]], which today represents one of the leading German watch collections.
