A regatta countdown timer is a watch with a countdown function showing time remaining, intended for boat racing.
Regatta watches allow competitors to position their boat close to the starting point of a race without being penalized by crossing the line. The countdown is typically displayed using different colors or with special hands or subdials. Most regatta timers start at ten minutes since this is customary in boat racing. Some also include additional shorter timers as the start approaches.
