Tungsten is a shiny white, in its pure state brittle heavy metal of high density, which is ranked among the transition metals. Of all pure metals tungsten has the highest melting point and the second highest boiling point. Its most famous use is therefore as the filament in light bulbs.

Tungsten also occurs as production material in watches, such as cases or weight segments.

Favorable properties, in addition to the density and heat resistance, are its exceptional tensile strength and its chemical and corrosion resistance.

The watch manufacturer Hublot uses Tungsten in some of their models
