eco-drive

Eco-Drive

Eco-Drive is an abbreviation for ecological drive and designates a watch model range by Citizen. The underlying technology tries to avoid the power consumption of batteries, in most models by using solar energy. Also, with different models, other energy sources like temperature differences are conceivable (Eco-Drive Thermo).

The first watch with this technology was launched in 1995.

In 2002 the first radio-controlled Eco-Drive watch was presented. In 2009 it was followed by the first radio-controlled Eco-Drive watch for divers.
