Graham escapement

The Graham escapement (also: deadbeat escapement) is an escapement type invented by George Graham in 1715. Even today it is found in almost all good pendulum clocks.

It involves the first dead-beat anchor escapement for pendulum clocks. The Graham escapement replaced the spindle escapement, since it brought significant benefits.
