Local time

Local time is the statutory time within a zone (eg. as the CET in Germany, Austria and Switzerland), as opposed to true local time (also true solar time) or the mean time (also: Greenwich Mean Time).

The true local time is the time displayed by a local sundial. For more information on the explanation of the latter terms, see: Equation of time.
