Jehan-Jacques Blancpain was a Swiss watchmaker.

Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, who earned his living as a farmer, in 1735 founded an own manufacturing of watches in Villeret, in the valley Erguel. At first in the farm house on the banks of the small creek Suze parts for pocket watches were made, and later complete ebauche movements, and finally, in the second half of the 18th century, complete watches were produced, which found their buyers in whole of Europe .

The year 1735 is counted as the beginning of the famous brand Blancpain.
