Graham escapement

The Graham escapement (also deadbeat escapement) is an escapement type invented by George Graham in 1715. Even today it is found in almost all good pendulum clocks.

It involves the first dead-beat anchor escapement for pendulum clocks. The Graham escapement replaced the spindle escapement, since it brought significant benefits.
