Timex

Timex is a US watch brand widely known for its affordable models.

The brand traces its origins back to Waterbury Clock, a watch manufacturer founded in 1854. Since 1880 it produced the first low-priced pocket watch. During World War II, the company was renamed the U. S. Time Company.

The name “Timex” was first used in 1950 for a wristwatch made by the company. The advertising particularly emphasized the robustness of the models.

After using quartz movements for a long time, Timex has recently returned to add models with mechanical movements.

Today, Timex Group USA, Inc. has its headquarters in Middlebury in the U.S. state of Connecticut.
