Urwerk UR-106

The UR-106 is a family of watches aimed at women produced by Urwerk since 2015.

Overview

In 2015, Urwerk launched a new series of watches focusing on women. Since their existing lines had grown progressively larger over the last decade, the company decided that it should create a new model with smaller proportions and modified styling for women. The “Lotus” features the company's signature Ur-Satellite movement in a smaller 49.4 mm by 35 mm case.

The UR-106 uses a new Cal. UR-6.01 automatic movement quite similar to the three-armed wandering hours automatic Cal. UR-7 movement in the UR-210 family. It has 52 jewels, operates at a frequency of 28,800 A/h, and has a 48 hour power reserve.

The case design and layout is similar to the UR-210 “Maltese Falcon” as well, with the minute track facing the wearer and the crown at 12 00 between the lugs. Unlike many Urwerk watches, there are few additional complications besides a moon phase indicator at 6 00 under the dial. The rear has no additional functions and the “turbine” automatic winding regulator is not present.
