Villingen-Schwenningen

Villingen-Schwenningen is a German watch town.

The former Württemberg single town Schwenningen once called itself “the greatest watch city in the world”. Here in the 19th century numerous tower, factory, stamping and control watches were made. The well-known watch manufacturer Kienzle, formerly German, now owned by international investors, is based in Villingen-Schwenningen. The Württembergische Fachschule für Feinmechanik, Uhrmacherei and Elektromechanik (college for precision mechanics, watchmaking and electromechanics) educates watchmakers since 1900.
