Deutsche Uhrenwerke Nomos Glashütte (DUW)

Deutsche Uhrenwerke is the name given to the in-house movements produced by the manufacture Nomos Glashütte, which, since 2015, has been gradually equipping and renaming all existing calibers with its proprietary NOMOS Swing System.
These movements are developed and manufactured entirely in Glashütte, with vertical integration exceeding 95% and the majority of components sourced from in-house production.
The DUW calibers are distinguished by the following technical and aesthetic features:
- NOMOS Swing System: An in-house development for the escapement, balance wheel, and balance spring, which has been installed in all new movements since 2015.
- Glashütte craftsmanship: Each movement features a traditional three-quarter plate, is rhodium-plated, and is finished with Glashütte stripes and NOMOS perlage.
- Precision and Regulation: The movements are fine-adjusted in six positions; depending on the model, swan's neck fine regulation (e.g., in the DUW 1001/2002), Triovis fine regulation, or the in-house DUW regulation system is used.
- Automatic innovations: The Neomatik series (e.g., DUW 3001 and DUW 6101) offers extremely flat, precise automatic movements with bidirectional winding and patented date mechanisms.
- Model variety: The range extends from simple three-hand movements to complications such as world time (DUW 5201), power reserve indicator, and stop-seconds.
