IWC 69355

Cal. 69355 is a midrange in-house automatic chronograph movement produced by IWC since 2018.

Details

The 69000 calibre family is similar in architecture to the IWC 79320 and IWC 75320 which were based on the popular Valjoux 7750 series. IWC greatly modified the movement, however, including implementing a column wheel system rather than the cam-based 7750. The Cal. 69000 series can properly be called an in-house movement, which enhances the reputation of the company's watches.

Although it features bi-directional pawl winding, it is a “push-pull” design like the Seiko magic lever system rather than IWC's Pellaton system. This makes the 69000 calibres more affordable than the IWC 89000 family.

Cal. 69355 is a two-register design with no date complication. It features small seconds at 6 00 rather than 9 00 as on the 7750, a special feature previously found on the Cal. 79240, which it replaces.
