Heinz W. Pfeifer is a watch entrepreneur.

The entrepreneur Heinz W. Pfeifer and the Nuremberg jeweler Alfred Wallner buy the Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe (GUB) on November 1, 1994 from the Treuhand (“Trust agency”), after a first privatization attempt with the France Ebauches had failed. The brand is now called Glashütte Original. Pfeifer succeeds to make the former state company, which was focused on cheap mass production, an exclusive watch manufacture of top class, which causes a sensation with successful new luxury models.

Continuing the tradition of cheap but high-quality mechanical watches, Pfeifer also re-animates the Glashütte-based, renowned brand Union, HICH also comes on the market with a new model programme.

After the sale of both brands to the Swatch Group in 2000, Pfeifer was responsible as Executive Director of the EganaGoldpfeil Group for their activities in Europe. Here he was particularly committed to a fundamental reorientation of the Junghans collection.

Meanwhile, Pfeifer is co-owner of the “Tempora Nova GmbH”, which is the new owner of the traditional German brand Dugena. There he is working on the further development of the Dugena model collection.

He also decided to relaunch the brand B. Junge & Söhne in Germany's watchmaking mecca Glashütte.
