Roskopf movement

Wristwatches with Roskopf movements are watches with extremely simple movements. The movement design is named after its developer, the German watch maker Georg Friedrich Roskopf, and is characterized by a particularly low-cost production.

The Roskopf escapement (also pin-lever escapement) consisted of an anchor body of brass and two lift pins, which functioned simultaneously as limiting pins.

After the patent of Roskopf movements, acquired in 1876, had expired, the system of the Roskopf escapement has been adopted by many companies and produced in high piece numbers till the beginning of the second half of the 20th century.
