Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner
After many experiments 1953 the first special wristwatch for divers was brought to market by Rolex — the Submariner. Initially, the water resistance was only guaranteed up to 100 m. Over the years this model was then constantly refined. Thus, 1957 the case and the Bezel were strengthened, 1959 a crown protection was added. In the 1960's and 1970's the watch was delivered with a plexiglass. It was complemented 1966 by a date display and in the 1980's with the left turning bezel. 1988, she received a sapphire crystal.
Today, the Submariner is rightly counted to the most famous luxury watches in the world, perhaps it is even the best known of all.
